John J. Viox, 74, of Cape Girardeau, and formerly of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at Culpepper Place in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
He was born July 30, 1946, in Ste. Genevieve, son of John A. and Evelyn L. Gegg Viox.
John enjoyed coffee, a cold beer, Corvettes and car shows. Most importantly, he loved his family and his church.
He is survived by sons, Sean (Monica) Viox of Byhalia, Mississippi, and Dale (Dana) Viox of Arlington, Tennessee; daughters, Melissa Viox of Williston, North Dakota, and Andrea (Billy) Field of Port St. Lucie, Florida; brother, Larry (Debbie) Viox of Ste. Genevieve; sisters, Elaine Roth of Ste. Genevieve and Mary Huey of St. Louis; brothers, Earl (Suzette) Viox of Ste. Genevieve and Leo (Glenda) Viox of Bloomsdale, Missouri; and grandchildren, Jackson Viox and Grace Field.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church in Ste. Genevieve.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Edward Nemeth officiating. Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Ste. Genevieve.
