John Vedok Jr.

ANNA, Ill. -- John Vedok Jr., 72, of Anna died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at his home.

He was born June 10, 1934, in Downers Grove, Ill., son of John and Lillian Oldfield Vedok Sr. He and Jo Ann Sowder were married Nov. 29, 1957, in Crown Point, Ind.

Vedok was a member of Operating Engineers Local 150 in Naperville, Ill., and Anna Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Vedok of Anna, Carol Boucher of Dongola, Ill.; his mother, of Winamac, Ind.; five sisters, Dorothy Kline and Betty Thompson of Winamac, Anita Thill of Jamesville, Wis., Lorraine Lockridge of Knox, Ind., Katherine Littlicoat of Lombard, Ill.; two brothers, Mike Vedok of Jeffersonville, Ind., Steve Vedok of Lombard; three grandsons; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, a brother, and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Roath officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
