John Upchurch

Funeral for John M. Upchurch of Manchester, Mo., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. E.D. Francis will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Upchurch, 55, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Jan. 11, 1946, in Norwich, England, son of John Paul and Sybil Gallant Upchurch. He and Cheryl Keller were married in 1967 in St. Louis.

Upchurch was a software engineer with Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring in 1991. He was a member and deacon at Iona Baptist Church in Oriole, Mo., and a professional bass angler.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John D. Upchurch of Manchester; a daughter, Mindi Upchurch of St. Louis; his mother of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dan Upchurch of Cape Girardeau, David Upchurch of Belton, Mo.; and two sisters, Patricia Copeland and Debbie Kinder of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his father.
