MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- John William Tucker, 60, of Marble Hill passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 20, 1954, in Lutesville, son of Harry and Forest Owens Tucker. He and Brenda L. Stevens were married Sept. 1, 1990, in Marble Hill.

John was a 1973 graduate of Fort Zumwalt High School in St. Peters, Missouri. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University Law Enforcement Academy, and attained certification as an EMT and paramedic. He had served as a reserve police officer for the Marble Hill Police Department and the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department. He was also active with the former Bollinger County Civil Defense and the Marble Hill Fire Department. He was currently employed by Bollinger County EMS. He was a faithful member of Hahn's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Chelsea A. Tucker and Heather (Brad) Jones of Marble Hill, and Jennifer L. Pepkin of Jackson; two brothers, Dan Tucker of Marble Hill and Tom Tucker of St. Peters; two sisters, Margie Willingham of Colorado and Merri Mooy of St. Peters; and five grandchildren, Alex Burton, Garrett Jones, Kaitlyn, Logan and Chloe Pepkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Jessica Tucker.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
