SIKESTON -- Funeral Mass for John D. Spradlin of Sikeston was held Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Msgr. William Stanton officiating. Graveside service was held Friday at Spradlin Cemetery near Scott City, with the Rev. Robert Schumacher officiating.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Spradlin, 85, died Sunday, May 12, 1996, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 30, 1910, at Fornfelt, son of Harrison Q. "Sam" and Allie Taylor Spradlin. He and Agnes Emma Gosche were married Aug. 28, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death April 21, 1983.
Survivors include a son, Gary Spradlin of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a daughter, Betty Givens of Hialeah, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Spradlin of Scott City, Meyer Spradlin of Potosi; a sister, Lottie Byrd of Sikeston, and three grandchildren.
