SIKESTON -- John D. Spradlin, 85, of Sikeston, died Sunday, May 12, 1996, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 30, 1910, at Fornfelt, son of Sam and Allie Taylor Spradlin. He married Agnes Gosche, who preceded him in death.
Spradlin was a knitter 15 years at Claussner Hosiery Co. in Paducah, Ky. He was a former member of American Legion and VFW Posts at Paducah. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. Spradlin served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Gary Spradlin of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a daughter, Betty Givens of Hialeah, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Spradlin of Scott City, Meyer Spradlin of Potosi; a sister, Lottie Byrd of Sikeston, and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Msgr. William Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Spradlin Cemetery near Kelso.
