CHAFFEE -- John M. Spooler, 87, of Chaffee died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at the family home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1910, at Glennon, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Schulte Spooler. On Feb. 18, 1936, he and Myrtle Mansell were married.
Spooler was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran and St. Joseph Sodality.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Spooler of Chaffee; a brother Albert Spooler of Chula Vista, Calif.; three sisters, Liz Reischman and Agnes Moore, both of Oran, and Mary Kinkebein of Wentzville; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel after 4 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. The Rev. Tom Kiefer will officiate, with burial in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
