SIKESTON -- Funeral service for John Scapino of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Geers will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Scapino, 32, died Sunday, July 2, 1995, in a boating accident on Kentucky Lake.

He was born March 19, 1963, in Cairo, Ill., son of John Charles and Wanda Miller Scapino. He and Lynn Johnson were married Oct. 7, 1988.

Scapino was a foreman at Alan Wire in Sikeston. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Wappapello Bass Masters.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Justin Scapino of the home; two daughters, Nikki and Chelsea Scapino of the home; his mother, Wanda Martin of Sikeston; a brother, Robert Scapino of Lombard, Ill.; two stepbrothers, Michael Martin of Huntsville, Ala., Tommy Martin of Memphis, Tenn., and a stepsister, Charlotte Penton of Picayune, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.
