SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- John Albert Rogers Jr., 75, of Scott City died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Fornfelt, Missouri, to John Albert and Ruby Smith Rogers Sr. He married JoAnn Gearing on Oct. 16, 1965...

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- John Albert Rogers Jr., 75, of Scott City died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Fornfelt, Missouri, to John Albert and Ruby Smith Rogers Sr. He married JoAnn Gearing on Oct. 16, 1965.

He was a truck driver and was owner of Rogers Repair Service. He was a member of Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City and served in the U.S. Navy in the submarine service during Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Tracy (Shawna) Rogers of Scott City; two grandsons, Corey and Tyler Rogers; and two brothers, Charles (Linda) Rogers and Dale (Mary) Rogers of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn O'Howell.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Burial will be in Lighter Memorial Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
