MORLEY -- John Raymond Bridges Sr., 86, of Miner Nursing Center, formerly of Morley, died Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Oct. 24, 1908, in Jonesboro, Ill., son of Hamilton and Effie Francys Felker Bridges. He and Alice Marie Skelton were married Feb. 22, 1933, at Charleston.
Bridges was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Bridges Jr. of Poplar Bluff, David Bridges of Panama City, Fla.; five daughters, Mary New of St. Peters, Kitty Jones of Oakville, Judie Stone of Ironton, Vicki Gier and Shannon Bridges of Fenton; a brother, Thomas Bridges of Marion, Ill.; three sisters, Beulah Herring of Marion, Susie Nelson of Anna, Ill., Edna Lipp of Tulsa, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two granddaughters.
Friends may call after 5:30 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
