John Alan Owen, 59, of Scott City died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Francis Edward and Bertha Helen Cassout Owen. He and Patricia Mae Clark were married Oct. 10, 2002, at Benton, Mo.
Owen was a painter with General Sign Co. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Scott City, Eagles Aerie in Sikeston, Mo., Scott County Historical Society, Painters District Council No. 2, and was a certified water diver.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sherry Pobst of Chaffee, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Beth Bahr and Shauna O'Gara of Scott City; a brother, Francis Owen of Richmond, N.C.; a sister, Donna Ford of Hewitt, Texas; a grandchild; and a stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church, with Charlie Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
