John Albert Odom, 82, of Scott City died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Heartland Care Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 28, 1920, at Fornfelt, Mo., son of Jesse Allen and Amanda Meinz Odom. He and Virginia Ida Hahn were married March 20, 1943, at Benton, Mo. She died Feb. 25, 1994.
Odom had worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers.
Survivors include a son, John Odom of Scott City; a sister, Marjorie Kesterson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
