ORAN -- Funeral mass for John Nicholas Gosche of Oran will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 2 p.m. today. The parish rosary will be at 7, Knights of Columbus service at 7:30, and Elks service at 8.

Gosche, 80 years old, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 1990, at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center.

He was born May 14, 1910, at Oran, son of Anthony and Ida Lucy Dannenmueller. He and the former Almerette Louise Leible were married April 26, 1945, at Sikeston. She died Feb. 14, 1988.

Gosche worked at Scott County Oil Co. 40 years, and was owner when he retired in 1977. He was a member of Guardian Angel Church and its St. Joseph Sodality; KC Council 4311 here and past grand knight; Eagles at Sikeston, and received an achievement award from Oran Chamber of Commerce.

He was a past chairman of Scott County Board of Health, and past exalted ruler of Elks 1810 at Chaffee.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Gosche of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Wilma Metz and Irmina Pobst of Oran, Nora Pobst of Chaffee, Corona Feuerhan of Hudson, Ohio, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Gosche of Cape.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Zeno, Harold and Leona Gosche.
