John B. Moore Sr., 70, of McHenry, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at his home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1935, at Commerce, Mo., son of Raymond and Zella Mae Moore. He married Nancy Wingers.
Moore retired as project engineer with PCA/Tenneco in Wheeling, Ill., where he worked 35 years. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters in McHenry.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Smith of Charleston, Mo., Shelley Sutherland of Baraboo, Wis.; three sons, John Moore Jr. of Ingleside, Ill., Raymond Moore of Park City, Ill., and Matthew Moore of Prairie Grove, Ill.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harold Moore of Gages Lake, Ill., Robert Moore of Crystal Lake, Ill.; seven sisters, Maude Hilyard of St. Peters, Mo., Katherine Lee of Perryville, Mo., Connie Warren, Marcella Westrich and Betty Statler, all of Chaffee, Mo., Brenda Strop and Peggy Moore of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Friends may call at Windridge Funeral Home in Cary, Ill., from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
