BELL CITY -- John C. Mobbs, 89, of Bell City died Monday, March 27, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born April 26, 1910, in Obion County, Tenn., son of Johnie Lee and Pearl Hudson Mobbs. He and Lottie Mae Keith were married Aug. 20, 1927. She died Sept. 25, 1976. BELL CITY -- John C. Mobbs, 89, of Bell City died Monday, March 27, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 26, 1910, in Obion County, Tenn., son of Johnie Lee and Pearl Hudson Mobbs. He and Lottie Mae Keith were married Aug. 20, 1927. She died Sept. 25, 1976. He later married Reba Starkey May 12, 1979. She also preceded him in death.

Mobbs had been a maintenance worker at Mobil Chemical Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Morehouse.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Mobbs of Newark, N.Y., Theodore Mobbs of Bascom, Fla.; a stepson, B.C. Starkey of Gonzales, La.; two stepdaughters, Blendia Breedlove of Lilbourn, Carolyn Carpenter of Morley; a brother, Hudson Mobbs of Chicago; two sisters, Pauline Finney of Bell City, Margie Lucy of Benton; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5:30-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
