PEKIN, Ill. -- John J. McNish Sr., 64, of Pekin died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Virden, Ill., son of Elmer and Clarabell Mincemeyer McNish. He and Charlotte N. Weinberg were married July 1, 1965, in Alton, Ill.
McNish was a custodian and bus driver for Miller Senior Center in Pekin more than eight years. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, and was a baseball coach for Pekin Boys Club many years.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Robert VanDuker of Manito, Ill., Clyde and Carl VanDuker of Pekin, John McNish Jr. of Marquette Heights, Ill.; six daughters, Clara Watkins of Chaffee, Mo., Margo Falco, Vicky Allen, Kimberly Brewer, Teresa McNish and Joanna Lawson, all of Pekin; two sisters, Verna Davis of Cottage Hills, Ill., Ruth Gersham of South Roxana, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin from 5-7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens at Pekin.
