John Edward Marshall, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City, Ill.
He was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Granite City, son of John S. and Dorothy M. Burt Marshall. He and Ruth V. Roberts were married March 25, 1951, at Potosi, Mo.
Marshall worked at Union Starch and Refining Co. in Granite City 23 years, and then was a self-employed electrician the past 16 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, James Marshall of Potosi; and a sister, Eunice Skaggs of Pevely, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with full military rites by Missouri Military Honor Guard and VFW Post 3838.
