ADVANCE -- John Henry Long, 93, of Advance died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 20, 1905, in Greenbrier, son of Jacob and Eliza Thomason Long. He and Ethel McDowell were married Jan. 17, 1935, at Brownwood.
Long was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Calvary Cornerstone Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Virgil Long of Ardmore, Okla., Bobby Long of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; two daughters, Margaret Nik of Jackson, Verna Downen of Mammoth Spring; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Cemetery at Greenbrier.
