John Albert Lomenick, 66, of Millersville died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Lomenick was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Como, Mass., to James Walter and Margaret Louise Williams Lomenick. He was married to Rena Lomenick for 21 years. She preceded him in death in 2009.
He retired from the U.S. Navy with more than 20 years of service, receiving many awards and medals including a Bronze Star, Vietnam Service medal and a Naval Unit Commendation.
Survivors include four daughters, Jonna Lomenick of Texas, Jeannine McGuill of Austin, Texas, Brenda Stevens of Amarillo, Texas, Cindy Miller of Millersville; three sons, James Jacobs of Millersville, Todd Jacobs of West Palm Beach, Fla., Brian Jacobs of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Donald and James Lomenick, both of Nevada; two sisters, Anne McDaniel of Nevada and Carol York of Arkansas; and one grandchild, Ashton Brannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Bill Joyce officiating.
