John Robert "Jack" Lipps, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home. He had been in failing health for many years. He was born Oct. 16, 1938, at Cape Girardeau, son of George and Dorothy Lipps. He and Joan Clyne were married June 28, 1960 in London, England...

John Robert "Jack" Lipps, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 8, 2005, at his home. He had been in failing health for many years.

He was born Oct. 16, 1938, at Cape Girardeau, son of George and Dorothy Lipps. He and Joan Clyne were married June 28, 1960 in London, England.

John attended Notre Dame Regional High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army's Security Agency and did his tour of duty in Frankfort, Germany. He lived and worked in London for approximately 10 years before returning to Cape Girardeau with his family. He was a line technician for Procter & Gamble until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; a son, Kevin Lipps of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Donald Coltrain; two grandsons, Sean and Brian Coltrain, all of Ballwin, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lipps will be cremated. Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be a private family visitation and service.

His remains will be laid to rest at Cape County Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Missouri Honors Team.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Southeast Hospice.
