John W. King, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Lutheran Home.

He was born June 24, 1924, in Cairo, Illinois, to John William and Amy Ann Whiting King. John and Beverly Joyce Feigenspan were married Aug. 11, 1951, at Jefferson City, Missouri.

He served in the Army in World War II. He received a degree from University of Missouri.

John was employed at Commercial Credit Corp. from 1951 to 1980 and Mercantile Bank in 1980, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Evening Exchange Club, American Legion Post 63 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838. He was a member of Abbey Road Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Joyce King of Cape Girardeau; a son, Dr. William B. (Julie) King of Jackson; a daughter, Nancy S. (Bob) Raleigh of Wildwood, Missouri; four grandchildren, Katherine King, Ira King, Emily Norton and Robert Raleigh; and three great-grandchildren, Robert Dennis Norton, Raymond Jiang Raleigh and Lee John Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Doug Job officiating. Entombment will be at the mausoleum, with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be given to Abbey Road Christian Church.
