John Lee Kennedy, 78, of Whitewater, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1928, in Perkins, Mo., son of Henry Lee and Rosa Lee Simmons Kennedy. He and Patsy L. Taylor were married March 4, 1951. She died May 24, 2005.
Kennedy was an Army veteran and served during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta and a member of the VFW Post 3838.
Survivors include three sons, John Kennedy of Sedgewickville, Mo., Patrick Kennedy and Miles Kennedy, both of Chaffee, Mo.,; a daughter, Terri Hubbert of Zalma, Mo.; a sister, Grace McNelly of Advance, Mo.,; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and three stepbrothers.
Friends may call from noon to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with the Revs. Eric Hodge and Robert Poe officiating. Burial will follow with full military rites.
