John J. Kelly III, 61, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Scott City, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Cape Girardeau to John J. and Verna Mae Sanford Kelly II.
John was a beloved father and grandfather and was always willing to help any soul.
He had a passion for baseball, coaching Little League alongside his son-in-law Darrel Kitchen.
John worked most of his life in landscaping, spending most of his time tending SEMO baseball field at Capaha Park.
John was loved by many and will be missed by many.
He is survived by two sons, John J. Kelly IV and Joshua Kelly of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Jessica Kelly of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Kay Samples of Portage De Sioux, Missouri, and Vicki Ross and Judy Mayberry, both of Scott City; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Memorial service will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Father's Arms Fellowship, 1400 Main St. in Scott City.
