JACKSON -- John J. Ludwig, Route 7, Jackson, died Feb. 27, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was 90.
He was born July 4, 1902, in the Oak Ridge community, the son of Charles F. Ludwig and Josephine Dambach.
He married Wilma Sewing Aug. 7, 1929. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Randy Ludwig of Route 7, Jackson; two daughters, Doris Ford of Cape Girardeau and Shirley Bishop of Jackson; three brothers, Elmer Ludwig of Risco, Mo., and Kermit and Willis Ludwig of Jackson; five sisters, Norma Huhn of Cape Girardeau, Nelta Petzoldt of Oak Ridge, Alta Proffer and Alphia Hoeh, both of Cape Girardeau, and Cleta Janowski of Daytona Beach, Fla; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
He had lived on the farm since his marriage. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's United Church of Christ west of Fruitland.
For the past 20 years, he was a representative of the McNess Company. He was a deputy assessor in Cape Girardeau County in the 1960s and a census reporter in the 1950s.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Lawrence Eatherton will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
