SCOTT CITY -- Funeral mass for John Joseph "Jack" Jungers of Scott City will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Roger Leveillee will officiate, Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by the Marine Corps League of Jefferson City, Central Missouri Detachment.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 2 p.m. Monday. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., with KC service at 7:30.
Jungers, 61 years old, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 1991, at University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia.
He was born April 5, 1930, at Illmo, son of Frank H. and Stella Brown Jungers Sr. He and Dorothy P. Workman were married March 27, 1954, in Cahokia, Ill.
Jungers was a brakeman/conductor with St. Louis Southwestern Railroad. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, lifetime member of VFW Post 6407 here, member of Knights of Columbus Council 6420 of Scott City, United Trainmen's Union, and Marine Corps League in Jefferson City.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Stephen Jungers of Jefferson City, John Jungers Jr. of Cahokia, Kevin Jungers of Scott City; a daughter, Penny Bain of Scott City, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
