John Huckstep

John Lynn Huckstep, 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, at Lutheran Home.

He was born Feb. 18, 1950, in Gordonville to Roscoe and Georgia Davis Huckstep, the 11th of 13 children.

John was a graduate of Parkview State School in Cape Girardeau and had worked at VIP Industries several years ago.

He brought great joy to the family with his bluntness, stubbornness and smooth dance moves. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who were lucky enough to have known him.

He is survived by brothers, Jack and Joe Huckstep of Scott City; sisters, Janet Jones of Cape Girardeau and Margaret (Paul) Wissmann of Fruitland; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

John was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry, Jim and Jerrold Huckstep; infant brothers; and sisters, Judy Propst, Jane Garcia and Joan Foeste.

The family would like to thank the staff members at Life Care Center and Lutheran Home for taking such good care of John over the last few years. The kindness and patience shown to him was appreciated and will be remembered.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with the family to hold a private graveside service at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
