CAIRO, Ill. -- John G. Holland, 88, of Cairo died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Daystar Care Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Paducah, Ky., son of James Grover and Gussie Cocke Holland. He married Geneva Blackburn.
Holland was an attorney with Holland and Holland Attorneys at Law. He was a member of Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis, Ill., Cairo Masonic Lodge 237 AF&AM, Cairo Elks Lodge 651, Illinois Bar Association, Maritime Law Association of the United States, past president and long time member of Cairo Rotary Club.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Holland Jr.; and four grandsons.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Pigg officiating. Burial will be in Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.
