John Henry Patterson, 32, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, March 3, 1996, in an automobile accident in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 19, 1963, son of Jessie Patterson Mae Smith and Eugene Johnson.

He was a maintenance worker at Hardee's and Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

He participated in the Special Olympics and won a number of trophies.

He is survived by his mother; brothers, Eugene Johnson of Sandusky, Ill., and Kenneth Pryor of Cape Girardeau; and sisters, Gertrude Smith, Lucille Patterson, and Pauline Smith, all of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at New Bethal Missionary Church, 1029 S. Benton, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call after noon Saturday at New Bethal Missionary Baptist Church.
