GALE, Ill. -- John Henry Matlock, 7l, of Gale, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1992, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1921 in East Cape Girardeau, Ill., son of John and Zonie Moore Matlock.
He married Louise Benefield on Sept. 13, 1941 in Cape Girardeau. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Carroll Matlock of McClure, Ill., Route 1; a daughter, Sue Money, Denver; sister, Alma Neff, East Cape Girardeau; four grandsons; two stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
He was a member of the Church of God at Gale.
He was a carpenter/millwright and a member of Local 1770 in Cape Girardeau. He retired in 1983.
He served in the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II.
Service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau with Brother Junior Trisler officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.
