JOHN HELDENBRAND

SIKESTON -- Funeral for John Heldenbrand of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Kelly Grubbs will officiate, with burial in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews.

Heldenbrand, 75, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

He was born June 26, 1922, son of Oscar and Gertrude Heldenbrand. He and Helen Jennings were married April 20, 1951. She died Feb. 23, 1986. He later married Helen Murphy Sept. 6, 1986.

Heldenbrand retired from Ray Clinton Construction Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jerry Greenlee of Eureka, Ray Shoaf of Morley, Larry Shoaf of Jackson; two brothers, Harrison Heldenbrand of Edwardsville, Ill., Wesley Heldenbrand of Ledbetter, Ky.; three sisters, Hazel Niplock of Karnak, Ill., Thelma Gilless of Matthews, Susie Bean of Roxana, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
