MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- John Henry Hanners, 85, of Marble Hill died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at his home.

He was born May 24, 1915, at Lutesville, Mo., son of Henry and Nancy Garland Hanners. He and Ruby Cook were married May 6, 1939.

Hanners was a retired farmer and a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank Hanners and Bob Hanners, both of Marble Hill, and Jim Hanners of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill. The Rev. Sidney Laxton, the Rev. Steve Sander and Brother Terry Hanners will officiate, with burial in Pulliam Cemetery near Marble Hill.
