John Joseph Leon Hanlon, 79, of Delta died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in St. Louis, to Francis Bernard and Mary Ethel Montgomery Hanlon. John served in the U.S. Air Force. John Joseph Leon Hanlon, 79, of Delta died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in St. Louis, to Francis Bernard and Mary Ethel Montgomery Hanlon.

John served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, Mo., and worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Survivors include two brothers, Paul Hanlon of Maryland Heights, Mo., and William Hanlon of Delta.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery in Chaffee.
