John H. Null, of Dexter, formerly of Chaffee, was born March 13, 1916 at Lutesville, the son of the late Leander H. Null and Louisa Beel Null. He passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. at the age of 82.
John was a retired butcher, a member of First Baptist Church of Chaffee, a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy, and a member of VFW Post #5900, Marble Hill.
He and Carrie McMillon were married on Dec. 17, 1953 at Chaffee, and she survives.
Other survivors include; a brother, Louis "Doc" Null of Marble Hill, five sisters, Mildred VanGennip of Advance, Clara Ford and Dorthy Woodfin both of Marble Hill, Maud Crites of Union Mills, Ind., and Melba Huffman of McClure, Ill..; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one step-daughter, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 199, with the Rev. Ron Shrum officiating.
Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
