JACKSON -- Funeral service for John (Hutz) Grossman of Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Revs. William A. Bernauer and Rodney Travis will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Grossman, 90 years old, died Monday, Dec. 31, 1990, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Oct. 13, 1900, at Jackson, son of William Henry and Carrie Schaefer Grossman. He and the former Mildred Godwin were married May 18, 1935.

Grossman was employed at International Shoe Co. 40 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had been an elder and deacon a number of years. He was scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 11 here from 1931-64, and received the Order of the Arrow Award and the Merit Award from the Southeast Missouri Boy Scout Council.

Survivors include his wife, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
