John F. Ford, 88, of Cape Girar-deau died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Raymond and Kathryn Rogers Ford. He and Hazel Richardson were married Nov. 14, 1938, in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
Ford was employed by Interstate Tile Co. a number of years. He had owned and operated Cape Mattress Co. since 1987. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ford of Cape Girardeau; a son, John Ford Jr. of Laughlin, Nev.; a sister, Irene Richardson of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Francine Seier; two brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter; and his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
