John Finn

DE SOTO, Mo. -- John Thomas Finn, 57, of De Soto passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1953, in Bloomfield, Mo., son of Alvin and Virginia Haynie Finn.

Survivors include his wife, Cherie Woods Finn; a son, Jacob Finn and wife Erin of St. Peters, Mo.; two daughters, Kathleen and Victoria Finn of De Soto; two brothers, James Alvin Finn and wife Michelle of Ellsinore, Mo., and Ron Finn and wife Janet of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister, Jeanne Handley and husband Kevin of New Johnsonville, Tenn.; and a grandson, Jackson Finn.

He was a member of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C 26 years and was deputized as a federal marshal. After retiring from the patrol, he worked for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, Mo.

Graveside service will be at noon Friday at McGee Cemetery in McGee, Mo., with Bill Sargent of Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Arab, Mo., officiating.
