BERNIE -- John Fred Fears, 65, of Branson died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1933, at Sikeston, son of Fred and Myrl Crawford Fears. He and Mary Neal were married Jan. 26, 1952, in Paragould, Ark.
Fears was formerly of Bernie. He owned and operated motels in Branson. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints at Bernie.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis and Michael Fears of Branson; three daughters, Kimberly Rendleman of Springfield, Cynthia Bowman of Malden, and Joni Burleson of Dexter.
Also surviving is a brother, James Fears of Branson; two sisters, Jean Tabor of Blue Springs, Wanda Miller of Ogden, Iowa; a grandmother, Ollie Hobbs of Dexter; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Donna Spence will officiate. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
