John Foster Lasley, 81, of Columbia, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1994, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
He was born Jan. 26, 1913, in Liberal, son of Foster D. and Emma Mae Williams Lasley. He and Gladys Lamont were married March 22, 1940, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She preceded him in death. He later married Sylvia Turley Price Aug. 23, 1991, at Blue Springs.
Lasley was a retired professor and past department chairman of animal science at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He also had written seven books and was a professional speaker.
He was a member and elder of Stadium Boulevard Church of Christ, member of various professional organizations, and received numerous teaching and professional awards.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joan Meyer of Cape Girardeau, Donna Latham of Sikeston; two stepsons, Kirk Price of Blue Springs, Mike Price of Blackwater; four brothers, Ray Lasley of Lenexa, Kan., Mearl Lasley of Kansas City, Robert Lasley of Nevada, Mo., Earl Lasley of Carlsbad, Calif.; two sisters, June Dawson of Eldon, Lucille Blackman of Nevada, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and seven stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters.
Friends may call at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia from 6-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stadium Boulevard Church, with W.R. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Columbia.
