John Franklin Cook, 78, 311 Mason, died Sunday, July 16, 1995, at his home.
He was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Mayfield, son of John Willis and Laura M. Stevens Cook. He and Helen B. Brotherton were married Dec. 30, 1944, in Cape Girardeau.
Cook worked at SEMO Body Shop 20 years and at Huckstep Body and Paint Shop 15 years. He was a member of New Life World Outreach Center.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tim Cook of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Patsy Bargman of Cape Girardeau, Janet Cook of Dallas, Texas, Vickie Cox of Jackson; two brothers, Truman Cook of Marble Hill, Milford Cook of Granite City, Ill.; five sisters, Opal Lincoln of Cape Girardeau, Jessie Hoosier of Advance, Myrtle Davis of Jonesboro, Ark., Wilma Vick of Paragould, Ark., Essie French of Granite City, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jack Cathcart officiating. Burial will be in Post Oak Methodist Church Cemetery at Patton.
