JOHN ECK

FARMINGTON -- Funeral Mass for John Joseph Eck of Farmington will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugene Robertson will officiate, with burial in New Calvary Cemetery.

Cozean Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eck, 88, died Saturday, April 4, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 2, 1909, in Yugoslavia, son of John and Anna Eck. He married the former Irene Kovachich.

Eck was a member of Carpenters Local 1795 56 years, and a member of St. Joseph Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Eck of Farmington, Walter Eck of Jackson; two daughters, Irene Eck of Farmington, Wilma Gegg of Coffman; a brother, Charles Eck of New York state; two sisters, Anna Kuzma of Granite City, Ill., Helen Slifka of DesMoines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.
