John Eugene Daniels, 2525 Boutin Drive, died Tuesday, July 16, 1991, at LaCroix Nursing Center. He was born Jan. 26, 1909, at Advance, son of William Melton and Flora Jane Smith Daniels. He married Bertha Hilderbrand April 22, 1934. She died June 6, 1960...

John Eugene Daniels, 2525 Boutin Drive, died Tuesday, July 16, 1991, at LaCroix Nursing Center.

He was born Jan. 26, 1909, at Advance, son of William Melton and Flora Jane Smith Daniels. He married Bertha Hilderbrand April 22, 1934. She died June 6, 1960.

Daniels had been employed by the Corps of Engineers and was foreman of the boatyard in St. Louis.

Survivors include a brother, Vernon Daniels of Scott City; three sisters, Bert Keck of St. Louis, Ada Choate of Scott City, and Ida Uthoff of Charleston.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until time of service.
