PUXICO -- John D. Steen, 70, of Puxico died Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at John A. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
He was born April 23, 1925, in Grove, Okla., son of Oliver Perry Steen and Elmira Inlow. He married Melony McCall on Oct. 2, 1982, in Bollinger County.
He was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Puxico. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, John J. Steen of Miami, Okla., Eric S. Steen of Fredericktown; Eric Porter of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Daniel Steen of Puxico; a step-son, Robert E.S. Tackett of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Billie Jean Steen of Puxico; a sister, Alline Busheyhead of Grove, Okla.; two grandchildren; and one step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three sons.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Church in Puxico. The Rev. Robert Cockrell will officiate, and burial will be in Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
