JOHN D. HARTIS

DUTCHTOWN -- John Doug Hartis, 54, of Dutchtown, died Monday, June 17, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 20, 1937, at Houston, Texas, son of Henry and Hilmer Hanagriff Hartis. He and Mary L. Jordon were married Sept. 1, 1964, at Jackson.

Hartis was a construction worker, and moved to this area in 1976 from Wyoming. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brian Hartis of Jackson, John Hartis II of Atwater, Calif., David Hartis of Dutchtown; a daughter, Tracey McElreath of Gordonville, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery there.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
