John Crump, son of the late Carlos Crump and Irene Norris Crump, was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Chaffee and departed his life Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau at the age of 86 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1956 to 1961, a former employee of Thorngate Manufacturing and a resident of Ellington.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Martin of Perryville and Debby Shaw of Cape Girardeau; one son, Michael Crump of St. Louis; one brother, Leslie Crump of Scott City; one sister, Carla Kennedy of Kansas City; seven grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
