TOPEKA, Kan. -- John C. "JB" Biri, 72, of Topeka, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Jackson, the son of John and Alma T. Christy Biri Sr.

John was a graduate of Jackson High School.

He moved to Topeka in 1963. He was employed by Wal-Mart in Topeka. Previous professions included construction worker and teaching building trades at Topeka Women's Correctional Facility, and he had owned and operated JB Trucking Company and JB Maintenance and Repair.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding.

His true passion was riding his Harley-Davidson.

He is survived by his three children, Penny Mulford of Topeka, Sandy Mulford of Carbondale, Kansas, and John L. Biri of Jackson; a sister, Betty (Roy) Evans of Jackson; his first wife, Peggy Hendrix; his second wife, Lilla Love-Lee; and her daughters, Veronica Fischer of Tecumseh, Kansas, and Stephanie Osler of Sahuarita, Arizona.

Also surviving are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Biri.

A memorial service previously was held in Topeka.

A graveside committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
