JOHN ALBERT SHACKLES

ROCKVIEW -- John Albert Shackles, 83, of Rockview died Saturday, Dec. 17, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Shackles was born March 13, 1911, to Everett and Iva Dunning Shackles.

He married Virgie Cecelia Griffin Shackles on Jan. 19, 1932. She survives.

Shackles retired from Sports Specialty Shoe Factory in Chaffee. He was employed as a case laster.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Eddie Shackles of Whitewater and Kenneth Shackles of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Shackles was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee today after 5 p.m., with parish prayers beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be at the funeral chapel Tuesday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
