CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Joel "Piano Joe" McClendon, 78, of Charleston, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1923. He married Maggie B. Johnson on May 11, 1978, and she preceded him in death.
He lived in Missouri for more than 45 years and was a member of the Opportunity Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include a special friend, Etta Ruth Stockston of Charleston; 12 great-stepgrandchildren, 24 great-great-stepgrandchildren and three great-great-great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call after noon on Saturday at the Opportunity Church of God in Christ.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Steve Betts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with Sparks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
