ADVANCE, Mo. -- Joe M. Welch, 75, of Advance passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1941, the son of Joe and May Wishon Welch.
Joe worked as a supervisor, building oil refineries for several different companies. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was the only son, with six sisters.
Joe and Nova Leah Simmons were united in marriage Nov. 22, 1985, at Dango, Colorado, and she preceded him in death June 8, 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Joe Welch of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Michael Mayo of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two daughters, Marsha Smith of Wappappello, Missouri, and Tiffany Wondel of Advance; special friend, Desiree McCrary of Advance; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
