SIKESTON -- Joseph E. Schlosser, 45, of Sikeston died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau due to complications following a massive stroke. SIKESTON -- Joseph E. Schlosser, 45, of Sikeston died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau due to complications following a massive stroke.

He was born Aug. 18, 1951, at Sikeston, son of P.J. and Geraldine Marie Brewer Schlosser. He and Sandra Kay Noles were married on Dec. 28, 1972. She survives.

Schlosser was a 1970 graduate of Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Ark. He attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss., and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3151 in Sikeston where he served as a youth director for the Squires. He was a board member and the current president of the Scott County Community Sheltered Workshop S.B. 40 Board in Sikeston. He had owned and operated P.J.'s Supply Company in Sikeston since 1982. He also served in the Sikeston Unit #1140 of the Missouri National Guard.

Survivors include his parents; two sons, Scott Schlosser and Kyle Schlosser of Sikeston; a daughter, Keri Beth Schlosser of Sikeston; and four sisters, Irma Lee of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Sue Ann Schlosser of Portageville, Brenda Schmidt of Olive Branch, Miss., and Jane Kloppenberg of Webster Groves.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be conducted by the Knights of Columbus Council 3151 of Sikeston tonight in the chapel at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at the St. Francis Xavier Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Monsignor William Stanton officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
