JOE R. SHORT

JACKSON -- Joe R. Short, 77, of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 1995, at Northway Health Care Center in Houston.

He was born May 25, 1918, in Jackson, son of Maurice A. and Kathryn Paul Short. He and Marguerette H. Adams Francis were married in 1965. She died April 1, 1984.

Short was a graduate of Jackson High School. He retired from Permion Corp. (now Occidental Petroleum) in Houston in 1982. He worked in an aircraft plant in San Diego, Calif., during World War II.

Survivors include three brothers, Paul Short of Jackson, Norman Short of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Willis Short of Dale City, Va.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a half sister.

Burial will be in Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville, Texas.
